TO-DAY’S WEDDINGS.
AN ATMOSPHERE OF BLUE.

THAIN—MOODY.

A charming atmosphere of celestial blue was suggested in the softly-toned hydrangea and larkspur decorations at St. Mark’s Church, Remuera this afternoon, when Miss June Constance Moody, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Moody, of Mount St. John, Epsom, was married to Mr. Thomas Reuben Thain, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Thain of Guildford, Surrey, England.

Pearl duchesse satin in gleaming folds composed the bride’s beautiful gown, which was fashioned with a heart-shaped yoke and pleated puff sleeves to the elbow, with a row of miniature satin buttons outlining the back. The train which was attached from the waist, merged effectively in the lines of the flowing skirt, while billowy clouds of tulle falling from a halo headdress of orange blossom formed the lovely veil that enveloped the gown. A sheaf of tuber roses and gypsophila completed an artistic toilette.

Attending the bride were her sisters, Misses Joy and Hilma Moody, and her cousins, Misses Anne Johnson and Mary Finlay. Very attractive they looked in forget-me-not blue georgette frocks, made with sunray pleated skirts, finished with small trains. Small blue buttons gave a dainty touch to the bodices, which had the waists defined, with stitched taffeta belts. Roulettes of blue tulle to match the frocks made dainty headdresses. Their bouquets of crimson roses gave a bright contrasting note.

Mr. Moody gave his daughter away, and the Rev. Percy Houghton was the officiating minister. Mr. Fred Moody (the bride’s brother) was best man, the groomsmen were Messrs. Calvin Ring, Desmond Dacre and Arthur Morpeth, while ushers at the church were Messrs. Graham Tudhope, Peter Luxford, Robert Foreman and Lewis Gilmour. Mr. J. Pascoe presided at the organ.

A reception at “Rosendal,” the home of the bride’s parents, followed the ceremony. The lounge and drawing room, and a large marquee on the lawn were decorated with a profusion of blue flowers to harmonise with the tones of the bridesmaids’ frocks.

Mrs. Allan Moody wore a deep sapphire blue flat crepe satin gown, with net coatee appliquéd in satin flowers. Her hat was navy tagel trimmed with a red rose and navy blue ostrich mount.
The bridegroom’s mother wore a beige lace frock, the bolero and sleeves being bordered with beige fur. A picture hat toned with the ensemble. Mrs. Percy Johnson (aunt), was in navy blue taffeta with hat to tone; Mrs. G. P. Finlay (aunt), black French crepe trimmed with ecru lace, and black picture hat; Mrs. Arthur Moody (Dunedin), black craquelle relieved with white, black and white hat; Mrs. V. Walker (aunt), midnight blue georgette, hat to tone; Mrs. Robert Duder (aunt), black crepe ensemble, black and white hat; Miss Mary Moody, blue and white figured frock, navy blue hat; Miss Minnie Duder, beige frock and coat, hat to tone.
